It is a rare Ferrari, it should catch millions of attention for
people attending the charity
Only 10 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spyders
were ever built back in 1967 and this one has been in the Smith family of North Carolina in the US since then.
It was originally bought by Eddie Smith
Senior, a Ferrari collector and businessman, and he kept it and drove it until
he died about six years ago.
Actor Steve McQueen had one which was
ruined in a car accident when it was rear-ended. McQueen tried to buy this car
but Smith Senior refused to part with it, saying he simply loved it too much.
His son, Eddie Smith Junior, says the
stunningly beautiful car has been "in prison" in their specially
prepared garage ever since his father's death and that the car deserved better.
In a heartwarming video interview with
Petrolicious.com, Smith Junior explains why the family is going to auction car
next month and that all the proceeds are going to charity.
"It'll be a bittersweet thing,
because we know the fact that all the money is going to charities that he would
approve of," Smith Junior said about his father.
