The XX admit 3rd album recording.

Jamie xx has said that the band have been recording their third album in Texas.

During the musician and producer's BBC 6 Music 6 Mix residency on May 2, he played a song by Texan country musician Mickey Newbury and explained to listeners that his band were recently in the singer's home state, working on the follow up to 2012's 'Coexist'. Listen to the show in full by clicking here. During the broadcast Jamie xx also paid tribute to the late DJ Rashad, playing his remix of Gil Scott-Heron's 'Home Is Where The Hatred Is', commenting: "Rest in peace to the both of them." Jamie xx remixed Scott-Heron's final album, releasing 'We're New Here' in 2011. Scott-Heron passed away the same year.

More information about the third album from The xx can be found on the Instagram page of the band's record label Young Turks, who last month posted pictures from Marfa, Texas, with the caption "LP3 Recording" as well footage of Oliver Sim of the band recording handclaps for the record. On Facebook the band said they were working with producer Rodaidh McDonald at the Marfa Recording Company studio.
