It was just the start when he took over
Becks’ Manchester United No.7 shirt and then followed his footsteps off to the Spanish
giants Real Madrid to laud La Liga glory but now Ronnie has pinched Beckham’s
Armani kecks too.
Just months
after Becks was unravelled, dangling from a rope as a kinky sailor boy down the
side of London
Flexing his
muscles in a set of white and then black briefs, the Portuguese striker shows
he also upstages aging Becks, 34, in the waxing and spray-on pampering
department as well.
And while Mr
Armani only handed Becks a pants deal, the Italian fashion king has called on
Ronnie to model his Armani Jeans range in a second selection of shots taken by
star photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in Madrid
Armani says: “Cristiano is a great
looking man with the perfect physique of an athlete. For me, he is the
essence of youth – spontaneous, exciting, a real maverick.”
“It is for his
energy that I have chosen Cristiano to become the new face of Armani Jeans and
Emporio Armani Underwear – for his youthful, exciting and yes, sexy, attitude.”
And the
“flattered” model himself says he’s chuffed with his inviting, sultry set of
snaps for the Spring Summer 2010 advertising campaign.
“I am very
pleased with the pictures we have done together – they are certainly striking
and are full of an attitude and spirit that I can relate to”, says the
24-year-old player.
The photo shots,
to be rolled out around the world’s fashion capitals in February, are another
blow for the Beckham’s undies reign.
Just this week,
US star Megan Fox, 23, ousted Posh, 35, as the face of the women lingerie range.
