Robert Downey Jr. Confirmed for HTC 'Change' Ads

Man himself. had inked a deal with HTC for a series of upcoming
ads. HTC formally announced the two-year arrangement on Monday,
ushering in its new "Change" campaign. The first ad will appear on
YouTube August 15, followed by new television spots. Downey According
to HTC. also worked closely with the creative team on the campaign,
including a word generator hosted on the company's site which
creates interpretations of the HTC acronym. An HTC spokesperson told IGN
the company spent $1 billion on sales and marketing last year, and will spend
"roughly the same" on marketing initiatives during the Change
campaign. The company did not provide comment on Downey's contract price. Prior rumors
suggested the Iron Man star was to receive $12 million for appearing in the new
series of ads.
